Our mission is simple: promote personal and community health, through environmental awareness
Who We Are + What We Do
In 2011, a group of Peace Corps Volunteer teachers and youth developers working in Armenia founded Border to Border. Each summer since, teams of volunteers have walked across the country, stopping in youth organizations and schools along the way to lead hands-on, immersive workshops on personal, social, and community health. With our holistic approach to health, we demonstrate that well-being extends beyond the body. We now benefit from a growing network of local partners and alumni, with a leadership team of Americans and Armenians working together to improve the program every year. In eight years, we have already reached over 4,000 youth. And we're just getting started.
Why We Walk
We don't just talk the talk, we walk the walk—literally. We believe that our message is made stronger when we lead by example. Armenia is a beautiful, mountainous country with breathtaking hiking available for Armenians and tourists alike. By walking, we promote a hiking culture that benefits the body and soul. And with the money we save by walking, we're able to visit a larger number of rural communities, many of which are underserved by aid organizations.
